Introducing the DAWN Validator Extension

We are excited to announce that the DAWN Validator Extension is now live, allowing anyone with the extension active to participate in the DAWN network. Download the extension here.

Core to DAWN is proof of coverage, including proof of bandwidth: determining whether or not DAWN nodes are providing the service(s) that they are advertising. The DAWN Validator Extension, powered by Witness Chain’s Watchtower system, facilitates this proof of coverage, testing connectivity and bandwidth from operators on the DAWN network.

In a trustless environment, operators need to be held accountable for advertised Internet speeds (e.g. “up to 1 Gbps”). The validator system acts as the regulator to ensure subscribers are receiving the actual Internet services that they are purchasing.

To get started, download the extension here, create an account, and stay connected. Users earn rewards by staying connected, referring others to participate, and participating as a validator (validators are chosen at random).
